Perhaps the biggest surprise was Lee Priest. Posing for pictures and signing autographs at the Prolab booth, Lee was adamant that he would not compete in the Arnold, although he was slated to. Lee had felt that he was 'screwed' at the Pro Ironman Contest the week before in Redondo Beach, California, and thought the judges would judge him unfairly if he competed at the Arnold. (At the Ironman, Lee came in sixth).
